Need A New Watch?

Recently, I joined a group of other bloggers to network and share ideas once a month:

Week Ending 28 September

This week was filled with a couple of special events.

Big Brother wraps up

I was a little surprised by the final jury votes because they played up the swing voters on the show. I originally made a chart for my pal Irwin to track the shifting alliances and strategies in the US Big Brother house. You can see it HERE. The chart now shows the outcome of BB4

The Big Brother Wrap Party

I was invited to the Big Brother 4 cast and crew's wrap party. It was really fun and I even got a couple of souveniers...

My wrap party coverage was even featured on one of the biggest BB4 fan sites!

Folsom Street Fair

I got there kinda late, but I was there long enough to have a really nice time...

Ape Escape

A gorilla escaped from a zoo in Boston this week and instead of seeing it as a major example of the inherent cruelty involved in keeping such sentient beings in captivity, people interviewed on the evening news suggested building better cages... ugh.

Do Not Call... Not

Telemarketers convinced a court to suspend the federal government's attempts to create a "Do Not Call List". Instead of understanding that a massive amount of their constituents don't want to be disturbed, the FCC and Congress have done nothing but support a reviled industry.

Election '03

Polling the pols
Seems like every major media outlet was quick to report a poll released this week showing Arnie with a bold lead. I don't know where or how they conduct these polls, but they always seem to be the exact opposite to the informal polling that I've done personally. After all of the pro-war polls came out last year, an inherent bias was revealed. They only include people who agree to answer their questions. So really busy people who don't want to sit on the phone and poor people in bad neighbourhoods who don't want to stand on the street corner and talk, tend to be omitted.

Election '04

Shrub at the UN
The "president" of the United States went to the United Nations this week with his hat in his hand to beg for a bail out. It was truely ironic to see him begrudgingly admit that the UN is vital to US efforts to re-build Iraq after he said the UN was outdated, and irrelevant in his march to war.

Peace IS PatrioticThe Age of Imperialism

Death Toll Higher Than Ever
This week more Americans died because Bush lied.

Priorities
Republicans are far more interested in fixing schools, roads and infrastructure in Iraq instead of fixing schools, roads, and infrastructure in America.
