Election '03
Post election politics = more of the same.
Once again we're left with Hobson's choice between dumb
and dumber or the lesser of two evils or any other pat, cliche
used to describe the two halves of our one party system. During
the last election we had to choose between "third way
centrist" Willie Brown and the "radical leftist"
Tom Ammiano. This time Brown's hand-picked heir apparent Gavin
Newsome is supposed to represent "the center" while
County Supervisor Matt Gonzalez is the second place "radical
leftist". He seems to fit the bill; running as a Green
Party candidate with a foolish idea to allow illegal aliens
to vote in school board elections.
I was shocked to learn that BOTH Brown and Newsome are registered
Democrats. Their policies and positions seem more inline with
Republicans, though I suppose that was the whole "Third
Way" ideal (And you thought it died with Clinton's political
future!).
I don't know what I hate more, the fact that all the wealthy
Republicans have fooled the electorate with another wolf in
sheep's clothing or the fact that the run-off election means
an extension of the campaign cycle until December... ugh.

Election '04
Bush cares more about money
The shrub toured areas of California devestated by fire. The
photo sessions showed how much he cared for people who lost
their homes but they proved how little he cares for people
who've lost love ones to the ongoing war in Iraq. After the
bloodiest week in the history of the US invasion, news reports
revealed that Bush has never once called a family or attended
a funeral of any service member killed in Iraq.

The
Age of Imperialism
Death Toll Higher Than Ever
This week more Americans died because Bush lied. This week
was the bloodiest day since this folly began.
Priorities
Republicans are far more interested in fixing schools, roads
and infrastructure in Iraq instead of fixing schools, roads,
and infrastructure in America.
