School
We got our exams back tonight. I got one of the highest marks
in the class, but only because I answered two of the five
extra credit questions correctly. I probably could have done
better if I spent a little more time on a couple of questions,
but when I do that I often talk myself out of the right answer
so I've vowed no more second guessing.

The Doctor is IN
I didn't really plan on going out this weekend. It was supposed
to rain, even though it only really lasted through Friday.
I got a call at 11:30 from DJ Doc Martin basically saying
'where are you?' He doesn't realize that I'm a dork these
days and I'm not up on all the club crap in town anymore.
By midnight, I was at the club mingling and trying to dance...

Missing a meow
In loving memory: Ellen's feline friend, Guido made his transition
this week. While I never met him, I've often heard of his
exploits. Ellen summed up her eulogy email by saying, "We
were so blessed to have been such close friends with Guido,
our sweet, loving, handsome, funny and irresistible buddy,
and for the endless fountain of love that he gave to us throughout
his 16 (80 equiv.) years of life. We were extremely lucky
to know him and share so much of our lives with him."

Drums
of War
This week, PM Tony Blair FINALLY capitulated to the will
of his own people and started back-peddling on support for
Bush's war. At least now Blair can say he was on board but
re-election is self preservation and the Bush administration
can certainly understand that. France's vow to veto any new
UN resolution means that it looks like the shrub is on his
own. Basically, it's looking like the shrub has to have his
little war soon so he can put it behind him in time to campaign
thru the summer and fall. A later start or longer fight time
will cloud the US presidential campaign which could be good
or bad for Bush depending on the casualty rates.
Good News: A second career diplomat resigned this week over
the shrub's 'systematic distortion of information and public
opinion not seen since the vietnam era'. Thank God that people
of principle still have the backbone to stand up to this administration's
steamroller to conflict.
