Queer Film Festival Continues
This year due to joblessness, I've had to cut back drastically
on the number of films I'm seeing in the festival. While I've
only got tickets to see three programs, you know I've still
got an opinion about them all...

Jury Duty
I have to serve on a jury next week. Actually at this point,
I just got called to serve. If all goes well, I won't have
to serve. This time, it is the criminal courts so it might
be an interesting case but I really don't want to spend a
couple of months dealing with the courts. With no stable income,
I've got to focus on finding a job. I hope they'll understand
that.

Credibility Under Attack (again)
This section was started two weeks
ago and will be continued as more items come to my attention.
Case Seven
Republican members of Congressional committees charged with
oversite of the "intelligence" community are trying
to stymie efforts to shed light on what Bush knew and when
did he know it. Many people now believe that Bush may have
manufactured the "evidence" against Iraq either
intentionally or unintentionally by disregarding information
that didn't support his opinions. Either way, America and
the rest of the world needs to know what really happened.
Case Eight
Members of the British Parliment called Blair to task this
week. The fact that his administration used a college student's
thesis as part of the "evidence" they presented
to Parliment, once again came back to haunt PM Blair. It will
be very interesting to see how this plays out because Blair
is the head of his political party and this is a political
issue. The Queen is the head of state, so issues of patriotism
won't enter the debate over there. In the US, the president
is both head of state and head of party so issues like this
get blurred in America.

The
Age of Imperialism
Death Toll Mounts
Reports rolled in DAILY about fresh attacks on US forces.
The US millitary did their best to spin it as 'forces loyal
to Sadam' when in reality we have a crisis of historical proportions.
For the first time in US history, we have absolutely no plan,
no strategy, no direction and a vacuum of authentic leadership.
The bloodless coup of 2000 is bloodless no longer.
