All
Shook-Up
This week seemed to go pretty slow. The House Guests are
grouped into two major alliances, "The Elite 8/7"
and "The Exes". Everyone knows about these two groups
and there seems to be a lot of cross alliance deals going
on... or defections... or just 'friendly' info sharing going
on (depends on how the episode is edited) I don't really think
I'm feeling it for this year's cast. I just don't care all
that much about them. Tuesday's episode showed highlights
of BB3's "Duckball Championships". Duckball is the
game that last year's House Guests invented. I got so excited
to see them again, all in the house and interacting with each
other and I suddenly realized that I really don't feel that
way about this year's cast.
Devilish Dana
Tuesday's episode continued with the "Dana is her own
worst enemy" storyline. We saw how the House Guests have
each decided why Dana is on the outs. Jun is her only friend
in the house and tries to warn her with a "wake up gurl,
they're gunning for you" conversation. Dana flies off
the handle which is a little continuation of last week's "Dana
gets pissed off too easily" storyline. No use of the
veto this week means she's safe (For now).
Michelle Evicted
Did Nathan, "Pull a David" and have sex with Michelle
before she left? If I only watched this on TV it would seem
that both couples only kissed and no mention was ever made
about anything more happening. On the live feeds however,
people were treated to the full monty and the bulletin boards
are rife with speculation about penetration. Whatever happened
Michelle, like Amanda before her is now gone and out of the
house! Thank Goodness too! Her lazy accented way of talking
really grates the nerves... she's just way too young and blond
and borring to be on TV.
Dana is HOH
In a flub so bad it couldn't be faked, Allison blew the last
question of the competition and Dana became the 3rd Head Of
Household. Showing incredible stupidity, she flaunted her
new position and openly courted the alliance of exes (Now
apparently they're also known as Huey/Louie/Dewey by the rest
of the house) To hear her tell it, I suppose it makes sense
to balance out the two allied groups by evicting one from
the "Elite 8/7"... but the reality is she's only
just killed her chances to stay in the house. She knew there
was a huge target on her back before winning HOH (and the
ammunity from eviction that it affords) By committing treason
from her original alliance, she alienates herself from all
of them. Combined with the fact that all of her new alliance
can see what she's doing and will forever suspect her of betrayal
means she's in for a really rough time of it.

Up Yer Alley
Sunday saw this year's Up
Yer Alley Street Fair. I saw a lot of friends on the street
and took a few photos along the way...

Gettin' Hitched
This week, I got the news that Kat
& Ben are getting married. V-ness
and Otis got engaged this week as well... in an ironic
twist of fate, both couples are featured in the gay pride
section of my web site...

Election '04
Shrub's Credibility Gap Grows
Questions keep swirling about what Bush knew and when did
he know it. A congressional commission released a preliminary
report about the September 11th attacks. Pundits now more
than ever see the Shrub's chances for an easy victory evaporating.
Dangerous Dips in Popularity.
It's utterly amazing how there's a fresh danger everytime
the shrub's popularity falls below 50%. This week, it was
an audio tape from Bathist loyalists threatening revenge for
the supposed killings of Saddam's sons.

The
Age of Imperialism
Death Toll Higher Than Ever
Reports rolled in DAILY about fresh attacks on US forces.
This week, the media was quick to point out that the new attacks
are in response to the killing of Sadam's two sons. But these
are the same types of attacks that American troops have been
experiencing for months.
Sons Murdered
Acting on a tip from an un-named source, US forces stormed
a mansion in Iraq and murdered all of the occupants. They
claimed that two of the dead people were Sadam Hussein's sons.
Because the shrub declared the war over last May, we now have
another instance of a criminal case being treated as a military
manuever.
It's only hippocritical when other people do it
Donald Rumsfeld had to do some major back-peddling to explain
his reasons for releasing his alleged photos of Saddam's murdered
sons. It turned into the biggest example to date of the ever-growing
credibility gap in the Bush administration. They said it was
wrong to show murdered American troops in the media and now
they've had an about-face on the issue to confront mounting
Iraqi disbelief. Many people in Baghdad were quoted as saying,
"photos can be doctored". Indeed, anyone home on
a Saturday night can watch the US government propaganda show
called, "The Agency". It depicts agents CIA agents
falsifying documents and photos quite easily. In case you
think it's just fiction, Oprah just had a former CIA agent
on her show. Seems he spent years helping to create false
identities for CIA operatives for their dubious assignments.
Now that he's retired from that, he makes prosthetics for
disfigured people so they can live semi productive lives.
The fact that US forces didn't starve them out seems fishy.
How come they used loud music for days to get Noriega out?
Why were the two brothers together? Saddam was so paranoid,
they hadn't traveled together for years. Many people interviewed
by the BBC brought this up repeatedly. So it seems that US
forces were hell bent on a murderous rampage instead of bringing
criminals to justice. If they really were Saddam's sons, how
much insider knowlege died with them... maybe that was the
real point of the raid. Unfortunately for the innocent Iraqi
civilians who have missing family members, they may never
get the answers they deserve.
Demonstrating Their Rights
Thousands of Iraqis took to the streets again this week to
protest the US Imperialist agenda and foreign occupation of
their country. Millions still have no running water or electricity
and they live in a desert. Discontent can only escallate as
the height of summer keeps tensions simmering.
