Queer-Love
FINALLY! Someone
in a major media outlet has the guts to question why the
government is messing around with marriage at all. It's a
private, religious matter and the whole issue of Gay Marriage
would quickly disappear if the governement would eradicate
the civil marriage monopoly held by heterosexuals. Property
rights and other legal questions associated with co-mingled
lives could be adjudicated with other legal venues. Marriage
serves as a lazy way to approach contract law. If people want
to keep the current system, they'll have to extend it to all
Americans because seperate is NOT equal... otherwise, chuck
the governmental and regulatory institution and return it
to its natural religous state.

Anticipation
OK, I admit it. I'm such a dork that I'm totally excited
for the new season of Big Brother to begin next week. Last
year's BB3 was interesting and compelling because of the clash
of archtypes, secret alliances and down right interesting
back-story's played out inside the house... This year it looks
like the producers have changed the ground rules and only
single people will be house guests. I think they're trying
to force a coupled-up set of alliances but the new twist for
this season is called the "X-Factor" twist. Four
of the house guests will be ex-partners of four other house
guests. It could be very interesting if they wait to introduce
the exes and let the house guest flirt and maybe hook-up and
THEN drop in their ex-partners.
The Dutch and British versions of Big Brother have been awesome
because they got the right mix of people and laid off the
heavy-handed manipulation. The first two seasons of the American
version of Big Brother were so bad, I could only watch one
or two episodes. America's BB3 was riviting and I only missed
one episode. I have to wait until next week to see if it was
a fluke or if they got the formula right.

Fun
& Fireworks
This year, my pal Irwin and his brother let me tag along
with them to watch the 4th of July fireworks display...

Election '04
The shrub came to California this week. He raised about a
million dollars an hour in the half a day he spent here. The
media was quick to point out that he's raised more money thus
far than all of the democratic candidates combined. Of course
they neglected to mention that with all of that money, he's
beholdened even deeper to special interests.

The
Age of Imperialism
Death Toll Mounts
Reports rolled in DAILY about fresh attacks on US forces.
The US millitary did their best to spin it as 'forces loyal
to Sadam' when in reality we have a crisis of historical proportions.
For the first time in US history, we have absolutely no plan,
no strategy, no direction and a vacuum of authentic leadership.
The bloodless coup of 2000 is bloodless no longer.
Bounty In Baghdad
US forces announced a 24 million USD bounty for the capture
of Sadam either dead or alive. They are naive to think that
capturing Sadam will solve the problem of guerilla gunmen
attacking the ocupying forces. I guess another vietnam situation
will have to wake them up a bit.
