Workin'
It
The office is a-buzz about the holiday party, which is happening
January 30th because everyone was too busy with holiday stuff
to party. My contract ends the following day, so I'm treating
it like a leaving do. My old section is going out to lunch
with me on my Bday next week, so maybe the last bit of my
tenure will just be a non-stop party.

School
I got straight A's last term! I was a little nervous
coz I'd not been in school for about 11 years. Apparently,
I had nothing to worry about.
This term, I'm taking a much more challenging course on Monday
nights, Physics... If I can figure out when it starts and
where it is. The room assignments haven't been posted yet.
The term officially begins on the 14th which is a Tuesday,
then there's the MLK holiday on the 20th... so maybe the course
begins on the 27th. At least I have some time to sort it out.

Craziness
Monday and Tuesday it was basically spring. I saw about twenty
shirtless joggers at lunch time (always a welcome sign of
spring) and the construction workers dismantaling the Kristie
Yamaguchi Holiday Skating Rink at the Embarcadero were topless
too! Then Wednesday, it was back to overcast and cold and
by Thursday it was wet, windy and winter again!

German Film Fest
This week, the German film festival came to SF. My pal Greg
went to a couple of films and I may go to some next week.
The reviews of it so far seem quite good. They're quick to
point out that Hollywood's saturation of the German market
means we get a better selection of German film than you'd
find anywhere in Germany.

Drums
of War
This week, Britan had to deal with the discovery of a terrorist
cell. The shrub's response was basically NOTHING. Blair's
been falling all over himself to become Bush's lap dog and
gets squat instead.
Everything looks more and more like it's all about oil. If
Blair really cared about all the crap he pretends to, he would
have attacked Zimbabwe ages ago and Bush would be after North
Korea. Instead, they concentrate on Iraq. It's sad for the
inocent people, but with "leaders" like these, seems
we're likely to get what we deserve.
