Rain Ruined Holiday I decided not to go on see the march from the Freedom Train to the Civic Center this year because of the wet weather. Instead, I stayed in and cried watching Oprah's show dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr. It was touching to see how far we've come as a nation and how much we still have to accomplish. I really admire his passion, commitment and faith in true justice. His leadership skills, insight, dedication and oratory skills are also admirable and sorely missed in today's crop of "leaders" |

The Noisy Neighbour Saga Continues A friend read of my plight and gave me a brochure for a community arbitration organization. I've contacted them to put pressure on the landlord to either kick out the neighbour, confiscate his tellie, or reduce my rent. The little Chinese guy I've been dealing with was a little difficult to understand on the phone, but he seems really thorough and professional. They deal with this type of situation a lot and I have every confidence that I'll get the neighbour situation resolved soon! Belated B-day Dinner My pal V-Ness cooked me a wonderful vegan dinner to celebrate my birthday. We couldn't get together last week because of scheduling conflicts with school and stuff, but it's better late than never. Her brother Coleman and their new flatmate joined us for a very nice meal and the Spirit of Moo joined us too. Working Weekend The weekend saw another fashion market of San Francisco at the Concourse. They were showing all of the summer collections, so it was a smaller show. This was my 19th trade show for this event. Though it's only five times a year, the entire crew has been working together long enough to know what to do and to deal with problems quickly and easily. After working 12 to 14 hours a day, I'm beginning to think Dianne is a saint for still being nice to people long after the rest of us are irritable and stroppy. |
