For the week ending April 21st

This week's theme seemed to be a song by Gwen Guthrie called, "Ain't Nothin' Goin' On But The Rent"

Back to the Fiction

I was delighted to find "The Man who Melted" by Jack Dann in paperback for only $5.00! It's been out of print for ages and it's one of the first Cyberpunk novels ever written in the 1980s. I've read it several times, though not in the past decade and it's still utterly brilliant!

It's my anniversary

It's difficult to believe, but it's true, I've been working with my pal Dianne at her trade show for four years now.

This time, the sales reps were showing their fall collections. I didn't see any really strong trends across the categories like last fall's purple or last Spring's pinks. This year, it seemed the only real trend was earthtones.

Maybe it was because I finished reading a cyberpunk novel, but as I walked around the venue, I couldn't help but remember a quote by the famous cyberpunk writer, William Gibson who said; "The future exists right now, it's just not evenly distributed yet." He was talking about technology of course, but it's equally applicable to other trends and developments as well.
