Need A New Watch?

US Big Brother 4

There was a lot more visible plotting, open scheming and shifting of alliances on this season of Big Brother. This page started as a more graphic way to track what happened in the US Big Brother house.

BB4 was back to usual

"OK, so I stopped watching the show a while ago."

Just as there were no outstanding or compelling characters or intersting interactions from BB1 & BB2, this installment of the series lost its fire when Dana left. I stopped watching the show for a couple of weeks, but like a lot of people I kept up with it on the Internet and tuned in again for the finals.

I really liked Dana at first. Then I totally hated her when all her bluster about revenge for using the bed passes proved to be nothing more than empty threats and she switched sides. Dana on the show seemed self deluded and a total drama queen. It was the reverse with Alison. At first I totally hated her until like the third episode when she gave up her victimized princess role and revealed some real strength and inteligence. BB4 had no secret tension left when these two couldn't face off. There was some lingering tension between the alliances especially while headed by Justin and Nate, but that was all out in the open and only 'for the game'. There's nothing more boring as a viewer than to have the plot figured out well before the characters do.

What made BB3 dramatic was the manuverings to keep the overt alliance intact and the covert manuverings to keep the secret alliances secret. I wish Dani didn't personalize the game so much, but I loved that she shared her secrets with the viewers at home while in the diary room. It helped me feel like I was in on something and it was dramatic to wonder if she would be found out with each passing episode. There was almost none of that with BB4. Looking forward, I'll give BB5 a chance next summer but they'll have to sort out a better cast and go back to providing more authentic twists if I'm to "Expect the Unexpected"

Wrap Party for the Cast and Crew

I went to LA and got to meet the cast and crew of Big Brother!

My pal Jonathan has been working on the show this season and when he read on my friendster profile that I watched the show, he invited me to be his guest for the wrap party...more from the Big Brother wrap party

Below you'll find out how the fourth season of the show ended.

Winners

Once again, it was an all female final two and again, the stronger player was done in by an emotional jury hell bent on revenge.

Jun
She followed Dana in breaking ranks. She was more subtle about her flip-flopping to follow the power in the house and was generally percieved as a "snake in the grass". She won because Alison hurt too many feelings and the jury voted emotionally.

$500,000.00
First Place Winner!

Alison
She was the strongest player in this game. She won five competitions in ten weeks, she was saved from eviction with the veto twice and she did her own 'dirty work' to evict her rivals. She was very open about her flip-flopping to follow the power in the house and Alison's main strategy was to use any means necessary to get to the finals. At times, she used tears for sympathy, she used her sex appeal to sway opinions, she used her physical strength and mental accumen to win competitions. She was a lot more honest about her behaviour when questioned by the jury at the end, but it obviously wasn't enough to change hearts and minds.

$50,000.00 Runner Up!

Members of the Jury:

Robert evicted 1 to 0
Strategy: Failed when he reminded Alison and Jun that he holds a lot of sway over the jury. They rightly believed he had more sympathy with the jury if he got to the final two.

Game Summary:
Robert was basically a passive player who rode to the final four on the coat-tails of others. He was the third member of the 3 Stooges/Dream Team Alliance and the other two were stronger players and that made them bigger targets earlier in the game.

His Sympathies:
He has repeatedly said he hates Jun more than anyone in the house. He took Alison for the luxury competion, so I think he'll be likely to vote for her.

His Vote: Jun

Erika evicted 1 to 0
Strategy: Failed when she lost the HOH competion to Robert. The rest of her "Girl Power" alliance decided to stick together as they wouldn't stand a chance against her when the jury votes.

Game Summary:
Erika was targeted several times and each week there was always a stronger player to get rid of before her. At the final four, she was rightly seen as too likable to bring to the final two and she got the boot.

Her Sympathies:
She said she wouldn't vote for the person who kicked her out, but Jack may be able to change that considering the fact that Alison played a much better game.

Her Vote: Jun

Jee evicted 2 to 0
Strategy: Failed when the "Girl Power" alliance realized he would automatically have the stooge sympathies before the jury cast a single vote. His "nice guy" routine could swing additional votes so he had to be eliminated.

Game Summary:
Jee won all of the competitions in the same week which showed he was a strong player that needed to be eliminated.

His Sympathies:
Jun because they are exes but he's dense enough that he might be swayed.

His Vote: Jun

Jack evicted 2 to 1
Strategy: Failed when his alliance lost the HOH Competition and Erika was successful in creating the "Girl Power" alliance that voted to keep her over Jack.

Game Summary:
Jack came in last in every single competition in the house. Instead of allowing him to "lay low" or "slide under the radar" as he had hoped, it made the other HGs think he was throwing the competions on purpose. The errosion of trust after his protests to the contrary combined with his history in the FBI made him a target and put him on the block three times.

His Sympathies:
I think it's Alison because he has often commented that she has been a strong competitor and she has been very open about her flip-flopping to follow the power in the house.

His Vote: Jun

Justin evicted 3 to 1
Strategy: Failed when his alliance lost the HOH Competition and he was perceived to be the bigger threat.

Game Summary:
Justin was such a "good player" that he was targeted for eviction. Yet, in other ways, he wasn’t a good enough player to overcome that and backstab his way off the block.

His Sympathies:
Alison because they are exes and he has often commented that she has been a strong competitor. He's also mentioned that he respects her because she was more upfront about her flip-flopping to follow the power in the house.

His Vote: Jun

Nathan evicted 5 to 0
Strategy: Failed when he couldn't hold his original alliance together and it weakened his position with the new majority

Game Summary:
He let his emotions cloud his judgements about Alison and she sold him out to solidify her place with the three Stooges/Dream Team Alliance.

His Sympathies:
Alison. Even though she betrayed him, scenes from the jury house have shown him commenting that he wants to snuggle with Alison again...

His Vote: Alison

Dana evicted 6 to 0
Strategy: Failed when the Stooges/Dream team alliance couldn't stand her anymore and didn't try to help her when she became a target.

Game Summary:
Betrayed her original alliance in favour of the Stooges/Dream Team Alliance because she let her emotions cloud her judgements

Her Sympathies:
She will vote however Justin does, probably while campaigning against Alison. Though her attitude may have softened now that the sexual tension and insecurity has eased.

His Vote: Jun
