Invisible Victims

Amsterdam is the home of the only memorial
in the world dedicated to the millions of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer victims of the Nazis.

Dearly Departed

While we may not know them personally, celebrities touch our lives in such a unique way that their passing leaves an indelible mark. I am forever grateful to these creative people whose work has inspired, influenced and entertained me over the years.

Transitions

So many arrivals and departures...

In the year 1992, 16 of my friends left the planet. After so many funerals, memorial services and grief, I decided to stop counting. That worked for me for the rest of the twentieth century, then came the year 2001 and a new wave of transitions to deal with.

construction coneGoodbye Dear Friends

Gone but not forgotten. I miss my friends who have gone, but I believe that life is eternal and they live on in a new form. Even if that form is just a memory of the love they've left behind. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.

Andie P. Cotton lost her battle with breast cancer. Our paths crossed and lives connected in so many ways over the years that she may be gone but she will never be forgotten...

Robert Dupris has been missing since Hurricane Katrina slammed into his hometown of New Orleans Louisianna. His sister feared the worst as it had been two weeks since anyone heard from him. It was dificult getting through to her in the weeks since the storm hit. Now that it has been well over a year and I haven't heard from either of them, I fear that Robert is gone for good...

Michael "Cocy" Young and his older brother David were killed outside of Creede Colorado when their Jeep rolled off the steep side of a road. While it had been quite a few years since I saw him before he died, I've never forgotten his kindness and the warmth of his spirit lingers.

Rob "Artbear" Jackson is probably best known for the many "Rob's Report" items scattered throughout this site. He kept me clued in to the World Cup, Eurovision Song Contest and many London happenings. He lost his battle with Cancer of the Salivary Gland in the summer of 2003. His little house in Teddington was chock-a-block with friends, family and flowers right through the end and I know many of us miss him too much.

Bernal Penhaul was the public face of London's Miss Moneypenny's club night. He was extremely creative and talented and I'm sure the London club scene won't be the same without him. He finally lost his battle with HIV in the summer of 2002 and will be missed greatly.

Tricia O'Conner battled with many health challenges and finally succumed to liver failure early in 2002. While we hadn't seen each other for quite some time, we shared some experiences in the early 90s that have shaped who I am today...

Chewpiter Griffin was only ill for a short time, yet she was surrounded by family when she left the planet in 2002...

Musetta Jones fought a valiant struggle with the abdominal cancer that finally tore her away from those she adored in 2002...

Mark Bingham was murdered by religious zealots on September 11th 2001 as he was flying back to San Francisco...

I'm bummed that I don't have any (good) pictures of two friends that left the planet in 2001. I wanted to give them a seperate page, but don't have enough material.

John Olson was killed by a drunk driver in April 2001. We worked together for a couple of years and he was really fun.

Stephanie Davis lost her battle with breast cancer in June. Even though I hadn't seen her for a few years, I'll always cherish the memories of our time together.

Hey Baby!

construction coneI've got so many new friends that I wanted to set up a virtual 'brag book' to showcase them and to welcome them to life.
