Honey Sound System Event
Once again, the Honey Boys took over the basement of what used to be the Mineshaft Disco/Bath House for an Easter Sunday Celebration & once again, I was working the door for 'em
Disco Daze
The Honey Boys (DJs Pee Play, KenVulsion, Robot Hustle, Jason Kendig, and Josh Cheon) have been busy playing gigs at local haunts like Gemini Disco, Qool, Bearracuda, Blasthaus, MLK getaway weekend, the Milk movie wrap party etc. so it's been awhile since they've done a party of their own. With guest DJs Jeffrey Sfire (ghostly international / NYC) and Steve Summers The video screens showed highlights from two parties I co-produced in the 90's: Toon Town & Carefree Dancing.

Based On A Book This party was based on Andrew Holleran's novel, Dancer From The Dance. The book has been described as, "One of the most important works of gay literature, this haunting, brilliant novel is a seriocomic remembrance of things past--and still poignantly present. It depicts the adventures of Malone, a beautiful young man searching for love amid New York’s emerging gay scene. From Manhattan’s Everard Baths and after-hours discos to Fire Island’s deserted parks and lavish orgies, Malone looks high and low for meaningful companionship."
"For if anything is more prized in the homosexual subculture than a handsome face, or a large cock, it is a well defined athletic body. Having all three is devestating" -Andrew Holleran in
