2007 Love Fest
The San Francisco Love Fest is similar to Berlin's Love Parade - it's basically the same type of event with sound systems on floats parading through the streets and then circling for a festival of electronic dance music.
 DaveMy pal Dave was a volunteer for this year's event. He had to turn up bright and early to help sort out the positioning of the floats. After his shift, he jumped on one of the floats and came down Market Street to meet up with me and tool around the Festival portion of the event in Civic Center.
 DJ's GaloreThis year there were quite a few floats playing music that I really liked. Unfortunately it didn't last too long. If I stopped somewhere coz they had some cool beats going off, soon enough the DJ would let the track break down to something so low that it sounded like the music was turned off completely and everyone just stood around wondering what to do. The Blasthaus float seemed to be the only one that played consistently good music everytime we walked by. You can see their float below with the giant gorilla...

"Backstage" The special VIP area was under the dome in City Hall. I was looking forward to have a cool place to sit down and relax, unfortunately they had a DJ set up near the bar. Lucky for us, they had the two side rooms open so I got to kick it after all.
