At first I thought the craft fair had something to do with Pioneer Day but apparently they have it every Saturday when the weather allows. We got there a little to late to explore much of the offerings, but I really liked some of the art we saw and the vegan pesto was awesome.

Pioneer Days in SLC

For my first ever trip to the straight-edged state of Utah, I went to Salt Lake City when they were celebrating Pioneer Day.

I actually stayed in the little town called Bountiful just north of Salt Lake City. It's a cute little suburb of SLC nestled into the mountains.

My hometown has a big white "L" on the side of a hill so it wasn't too strange to see the big Bountiful "B" on a hill there.

24th of July means A Parade

Dave didn't have the day off so we didn't get a chance to check out the parade in person, but I did see some of it on TV and of course we saw them getting these floats ready the day before.

24th of July means Fireworks Too!

In Utah, they have fireworks on the 4th of July and again twenty days later for Pioneer Day to celebrate their state's first settlers. You can see pictures of our fun with fireworks by clicking HERE.
