2005 PRIDE CAR SHOW
I've been to loads of car shows over the years and this has got to be the best by far. The Freewheeler's Car Club hosted the show which displayed cars owned by the club's members. |

Well Cared-For Cars
All of the vehicles are obviously well loved and well cared for. What really made this different than other car shows had more to do with the presentations. The classic mannequins, the staging of vignettes and grouping cars by color as well as era, all combined to make an outstanding event. I'm surprised to find that this was the 22nd Annual Freewheeler's Car Show. I'm not sure they've all been on pride weekend, but just the fact that I've been in San Francisco for 18 years, loving cars and I'm just now finding out about this event - it's shocking and amazing that I can still be surprised by this city. The image below shows a car packed for Spring Break, the dolls inside had "Where The Boys Are" playing on the radio to pay homage to the movie of the same name - how gay is that?

Details Make A Difference
As I walked around the Pier, I couldn't help but notice all of the little details in so many of these classic cars. From a teddy bear on a seat, to a cool looking tail fin, to the deco styled hood ornaments, and beyond, all the little details were so captivating and added up to a cohesive celebration of design, creativity, horsepower and love.
