Lisa-Lisa
Rocks The Park!

WOW! What a show. When I first saw her name on the event roster, I was afraid they were going to stick her up the hill in the dance area. She was the only dance oriented act on the bill and they had her playing the mainstage! I was bummed that she didn't have enough time to go through all of her biggest club hits, but she did do a medley and sang a few favourites like, "Take You Home". I could have done without the ballads in the middle of her set and her dancers were out of sync and out of shape but even those small detractions couldn't ruin her brilliant performance. She even sang accappella and kept the crowd entertained while there were technical difficulties. Seeing her was definately the high point of the day!

2004 San Jose Pride

This year I took the train down alone with plans to meet Irwin who turned up late in the day. I love this event because it's small enough to see everything and run into people at least a couple of times. I've seen the ticket price rise over the years as the value seems to be erroding at the same time. This year, there were no acts scheduled for the dance tent and I noticed fewer corporate sponsorship banners. I realize that the economy has been depressed lately and that booking and promotion cost money, but gay people are supposed to be extremely creative. I wonder why they can't figure out a better way to finance their operation to continue producing a high quality event.

Cary clowns around

My high school era pal Cary lives in LA, but he went to college at San Jose State and still has quite a few friends in the area. He brought his new bf and a few pals to Pride and it gave me a great chance to reconnect with him a bit and have some fun.

I found Glen wandering around

Irwin and I saw Glen at the Chinese New Year Parade earlier this year and while I've seen him a few times since then up in San Francisco, I forgot that Glen lives down in the South Bay. It was fun to find him wandering.

Hey, I'm on the Web!

I found a group of tall guys standing around and promised to post this picture...
