Need A New Watch?

2004 MLK Day

It was a surprise last year so this year I made an effort to check out the parade. I managed to catch the tail end of it as everyone marched past my apartment.

The Parade

The march from the Caltrain station is one of the largest events honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Apparently it is also one of the first.

Very Encouraging

It was great to see all the banners and to know that there are some people who remember what Dr. King's message was all about. Sure there were protesters objecting to The Shrub laying a wreath on King's grave, but that was a minor media moment from last week. People marching in the streets are obviously a far more passionate reminder that Martin Luther King Jr. was way more than just an "I have a dream" speach.
