Jeno on the Dex

DJ Jeno played a mix of late 80s and early 90s acid flavoured house favourites that were Wicked's signature sound before the breakbeats and prog house took over. Back in the day, it was called, "Creamy Techno" or "Detroit Tin", now it just sound solidly House because Techno is now so associated with harder, faster beats and sharper elements.

Need A New Watch?

12 years on

Wow, it's hard to believe that it's been twelve years since the first Wicked Sound System party. Although I haven't worked with them for about seven years, I've still kept in touch and remained friends with the lot of them.

Soon after I arrived, I found my pal Andie. She was on her own as her husband stayed home to babysit Dex. After stocking up at the bar, we settled in for a nice groove and a few wanders to find friends both old and new. For some reason, the staff wouldn't let me bring my camera in to the club. I saw about 10 other cameras and they gave no grief to Andie about her camera so she graciously supplied these photos.

Dancing is Fun

I've known Gina for 15 years and though motherhood has mellowed her a little, she's still the irrepressible moppet we've always loved. Andie and I hung out with her, getting our groove on just like the olden daze. This time however, there was air conditioning and a level of sobriety and dare I call it maturity added to the mix that created a wonderfully upbeat yet nostalgia-tinged expereince.
