E-Day is B-Day

This Easter marked Louis Lane's tenth birthday.

No matter how much he protests, the procrastinating Marc's B-day is far too early to be considered an E-day event, even if he has a B-day party on
E-day weekend.

Easter

Wow, a whole day devoted to the celebration of resurection and rebirth. Sounds like the makings of a Hallmark Holiday™ but Universal Truth is known universally and many pagan cultures around the globe associate the symbol of the egg with life, especially eternal life. There's nothing like a party to make one feel more alive and this E-Day weekend didn't dissapoint.

Celebrating E-Day

With a scratchy throat and feeling a bit run down after a hectic week, I decided to play it mellow this year. I stayed home on Saturday night and got a really late start on Sunday. I woke up too late to go to church and after a series of 'happy bunny day' calls, I thought I could still make it to the cotton-tail end of The Sister's E-day in the park, but I got side tracked on Howard Street with the 'How Weird Street Fair'...

How nice to feel included

I got invited to so many events this year. Here's some of the highlights of the things I didn't do.

Sisters Doin It for Demselves

I had a great time last year, and this year I decided to stay closer to home. It was once again the time of year when lovers spark, doggies bark, and The Sisters party in the park! Cash Prizes & Fabulousa Gifts were claimed by the winners of our INfamous contests:

"Doin' It Doggie Style," The Doggie Costume Contest
The Easter Bonnet Contest
The Hunky Jesus Contest

The contests are always the highlights of the day as many people dress up to compete. Last year I voted for G.I. Jesus, but he got bounced out in the semi-finals. I was curious to see if anyone would resurect the military Jesus meme after such an escallation of the pestilence of war.

Puppy's Patio Party

Billed as a basic Bar-B-Q, I think Puppy planned it without realizing the double holiday created far too many scheduling conflicts.

Bunny Bunny, Jam Jam

This event is wild! The organizers produce the annual Burning Man events in Nevada and their crowd is always extremely artistic and intelligently creative. I felt too tired to leave the house on Saturday night, but my pal Ggreg Taylor assured me the party was off the hook! He turned up with my pal Jason El Diablo as "Bunny and Cher". When I have links to the pix, I'll put them here.

Billion Bunny March

The invite said "Join The Billion Bunny March and Critical Grass (HOPpening in cities across the United States) to protest humanity!

"WEAR your Easter bonnets, BRING your human protest signs, HOP on your bunnified bike and JOIN us for this bunstoric event as we proclaim our disatisfaction with human behavior and propose wonderful alternatives to 'The Human Problem.' Come as the Bunny you wish to see in the world. And give the humans a peace of your mind!"

4:20 Party in the Park

Several friends invited me out to Golden Gate Park, but I decided to stay closer to home. Deva D saw De La Soul and said their set was really fast paced and nicely done. I saw them on their first tour for 'Three Feet High and Rising' and it may have been cool to see how far they've progressed over the years. I haven't bought much of their new material and I'd need to check it out before seeing them live.
