Gomes on the show
The House Guests during the third season of Big Brother spent
an afternoon painting some garden gnomes and were shocked
to find them later; strung up in the back yard as part of
their weekly competition. The fourth season saw the gnomes
return in a new competion that required the House Guests to
smash as many as possible to find tickets inside.
At the wrap party
There were a couple of gnome styles to choose from. First
I grabbed one with an axe on his shoulder because I didn't
like the one riding a pig and the barbecuing gnomes looked
cool, but there were no more blank ones around. When I sat
down, I noticed there were a few blank gnomes in the middle
of the table. I traded mine for one carrying a deer. I started
painting the hat red and then decided to go for a smurfish
look with blue skin. Elaina, BB4 Robert Romain's daughter
sat across from me and gave me some purple paint for the trousers.
My pal Jonathan came by to check on me and while I was in
the loo, he added polka dots and painted the deer to look
like his dog Gracie. After a few attempts at 'finishing touches'
we decided it needed some glitter. It was kinda dark and I
didn't realize that the nozzle was sticky, so when I went
to spray the gold glitter it erupted in a huge burst of concentrated
sparkles. If nothing else, the gnome has character. It took
a while to dry with the hair dryer and heat gun, but it was
finally ready for autographing.
