Towering

After the fireworks display, we wandered east a little then found some stairs and trekked up to the top of the hill to check out Coit Tower.

Need A New Watch?

Independence Day

This year I was invited to a couple of barbecues, but I stayed home for most of the day. I did manage to get over to fisherman's wharf to check out the fireworks though...

Family Affair

My pal Irwin and his brother have made a bit of a tradition out of watching the fireworks together. This year, they let me tag along and the three of us went to the multi-storey car park where I saw the fireworks last year. Afterwards, we walked back to by place with a few detours for some touristy sight seeing.

Boom & Bust

As we climbed the stairs, I could see some fireworks off in the distance somewhere in Marin. We only had about ten minutes to wait until the fireworks began.

The show got off to a really nice start and I probably would have enjoyed it more if we weren't surrounded by some drunk Russians. A couple of the guys were obviously trying to compete with each other to see who could come up with the lamest remarks.

The Grand Finale wasn't really either grand or final... there were about five white blasts and then nothing else except the thunderous sound of the crowds of people evacuating the area. As we joined them and made our way through the north east corner of the city, we saw and heard quite a large amount of illegal fireworks.
