Thanxgiving

Last year I went to Puppy's house for dinner. This year, I attended a Tiki T-day do at the lovely home of V-ness. The weather was clear, bright and warm enough for me to run around outside in just a T-shirt for most of the day.

I was surprised to find myself fielding a lot more questions about Tofurky this year.

Obviously there are
a lot of misperceptions about Tofurky. It's not really trying to emulate the look or taste of turkey. It's just presented as a cruelty free alternative to the traditional holiday meal.

Reconnecting with Conversations

While the SLO posse has long since abandoned the town that gave the gang it's name, we've not abandoned each other. We've added people over the years, like Melissa from Montana and most recently Darren. He's Australian, but lives in Saucelito now. He had a cold so he was a bit mellow, but he's cute and funny and fit in with our clique quite well. He doesn't know our pal Lanya, but she's Australian too. Coleman is going down under in a couple of weeks to visit her and Darren gave him the low-down on the down-under.

Fabu-food!

I'm morally opposed to the canapes, but they were so cute I had to photograph them for you. It's basically food coloring and cream cheese on crackers, but they look so festive on the tiki lounge table. Our pal Kelley made the olive tree just to put Martha to shame.

After the sun went down, it got cold. We moved into the house and enjoyed some lovely butternut squash soup while watching "It's Thanksgiving Charlie Brown" on DVD. I'm surprised how offenceive it seemed. The Peanuts kids are portrayed as pilgrims making a perilous journey to America. What the show leaves out is the fact that the pilgrims were kicked out of The Netherlands for being dogmatic, judgemental religious extremists. No one liked them in England either. At least we have the Peanuts Christmas Special to look forward to.
