| 2001 Events: Southern Decadence |
|
It seemed like the French Quarter was saturated with sound... Buskering by accapella songsters or single musicians took place everyday I was there. I found this band set up in the middle of Royal Street when it was closed on the weekend. They were pretty good and quite a crowd gathered to hear them play. Down the street at the world famous, Cafe Du Monde, their house band was cooking up a jazzy set in the rain. The people at the tables eating the fat, sugar and salt served hot and fresh daily at the cafe loved the music so much that a few of the couples even started dancing. I didn't get my dance on in the street, but I did enjoy some of the music. Can't get decadent enough? |
