Daniel Nicoletta has been and continues to be a fixture in the LGBTQQ community. The fractalization of his contributions to the community are still being felt in ever increasing amounts.

Back in the day, he got together with some pals, hung up a sheet in a parking lot in the Castro district to present super8 films by local gay and queer artists. It evolved into the present incarnation of Frameline and the International Film Festival produced every year for a quarter of a century.

I've known Danny since the late 80s when I moved to SF. He's documented my evolution through the local Queercore punk scene and burgeoning rave scene. He's deeply passionate about his work and his love for film in all it's expressions mirrors his love of the LGBTQQ community in all of it's expressions.

This year, Danny provided one of the 8mm shorts shown in the group of DIY Homo Movies and also some stills for the Cockettes Documentary.
