The festival has expanded to include five venues this year, but the heart of the event is rooted in the Castro Theater. |

The Castro Theater is the crown jewel of the Castro Neighbourhood. It's beautifully ornate interior sets the perfect mood to enjoy a film. It's magic becomes truly apparent when watching a cult favourite or Queer oriented film. The level of audience participation is unparalleled. People boo and hiss the bad guys and root for the good guys and when the lines between the two blur, the reaction is always interesting For special events and silent films, they bring in an organist who rises from the musician's pit to play songs for the crowd... show tunes are de riguer, but generally known and loved by the lively crowd.
