2001 Events: Folsom Street Fair

Q found Pete and Jesse on Folsom StreetI've seen that face before

Not everyone is afraid to travel these days. My little pals from Texas (and London) turned up this weekend. They couldn't call me to hang out, but I knew I would run into them on the street eventually. (Yes San Francisco IS small enough to bump into people you know). Pete and Jesse were bouncing around with some of their pals from Texas. They stopped just long enough to pose for this picture with me.

Q and Jasper on Folsom StreetAnd I've faced that scene before

True to his word, Jasper turned up as well. His partner Tony was kind enough to click this picture for us. Jasper said he does actually own more than one ensemble (he was wearing the same gear the last time I saw him)...

Q and DanPop-Up and Party

I was quite surprised to see my pal Dan pop up at the Eagle Tavern. Puppy had to tinkle (again) and I turned to go out to the patio and almost tripped over Dan. That's what happens when I look over people's heads, sometimes I don't see them. Apparently there was a little cadre of LA folks off in a (dark) corner somewhere. I had to wait for Puppy, so I never saw the rest of them. They eventually made it to the Powerhouse though. Puppy and I stopped in there before dinner. I saw Dan snogging in the corner, though I don't think the other guy was his friend from L.A.

Q and JoelI'm sure you're "short" to lots of people, Joel...

My pal Joel was in town from Los Angeles as well. He did a whirlwind tour of San Francisco all day Saturday that included a few major tourist attractions (Fisherman's Wharf, Coit Tower, Golden Gate Park) and every gay bar in the Castro district. They hit a few South of Market as well and by the time I saw him on Sunday, he was still having fun...

Someday I'll be able to tell people that I'm close personal friends with Puppy the Porn Star. He was working it at the Steamworks booth for most of the afternoon.

I know September is facial hair season, but with all of the excitement of my holiday and the whole 911 thing, I didn't start until the middle of the month. This year I chose to do just a mustache because the whole prison pussy thing is dated, and Tom Teare and some tired straight guys are the only ones holding the light for the van dyke addendum. Besides, a 'tache is just so Folsom Street in it's 1970s hayday!
