2001 Events: Folsom Street Fair

SantiagoSantiago Used to be Preppy

I was pretty wild in high school. Santiago once told me that even two years after I left, they were still talking about some of my antics. Once I pierced my ear with a safety pin in Mr. Slevkoff's class. Santiago was totally freaked out. Now, about 18 years later, the only piercing I have left is in my nose, though I rarely seem to wear anything in it these days. Santiago on the other hand, has taken to it rather fondly. It's kind of funny to think how upsetting a guy with even one ear pierced was in the 80s... maybe in twenty years, extreme piercing will be just as commonplace.

Santiago's back

Wings pierced into his back
The feathers are attached to long pins that go through his back, just above the scapula. The pins are held in place by beads. Santiago chose two really long feathers, while he made a full set of wings for his boy du jour...

More Folsom Fun

Yes the needles DO go through the skin to hold on the feathers in place. The bells are sewn in to his arm with thread.
