2001 Events: Independance Day

Eric and Shirley enjoy a private momentThe Bayside Party

Eric and his "sister-in-law" (see sidebar) Shirley did their utmost to ensure that all the guests were happy.

For those of you that don't know, back in the day, only white straight people were considered human under American law. Africans and African-American slaves were considered property and couldn't get married so they would jump over a broom to establish their "Domestic Partnership" Gay men and Lesbians, continue this tradition because the government still refuses to recognize our committed, loving relationships.

Shirley and the flag boysThe hostess with the mostest

O.K. so maybe Shirley went out of her way to make the boys happy. (nothing new there!) She really was the life of the party flittering around the room with her zany one-liners and makeover tips.

Shirley and the Texans

Even the Texans had fun

Maybe it's because Textacy was legal for so long, or because they are so repressed in their homeland, but Texans always seem prepared to party...
