Maybe
I'm Jaded
It
didnt seem very decadent but there were so many events going on
at all the bars, I know I missed a lot of it. At one point a fire truck
and ambulance made their way through the throngs to the thickest part
of the crowd
it looked like they were rescuing a GHB overdose or
something (I know, how 90s!) but it would have been completely decadent
if they had opened up the back of the ambulance and started passing out
Popsicles or free beer. The temperature was in the 90s the whole time
I was there with like a million percent humidity. Steve said that on the
hottest day, it got to 106F
it was quite a shock considering it
was 66F when I left San Francisco. Needless to say I made friends with
the corner store people and all their bottled water. I tend to like warmer
weather, but after five days of it, I was ready to come home to 70s and
80s (F) with no humidity. Im sure Ill go back again next year
over the American Labour Day weekend!

I
was surprised to see so much public art around the city of New Orleans.
These fish were spread all around town. Each one was customized
by different artists.

A
Balcony Game
The
balconies all around the Queer section of Bourbon Street are usually crowded
with loads of guys shouting, "Show us your dick!" They reward
you with the beaded necklaces if you do...
"Ring
toss" is another favourite pastime there as well. It usually involves
tossing the beads across the street from one balcony to the other... or
from the street up to the balcony.
In
the streets, there are usually scrums around blow jobs or circle jerks
(kind of like the SF Eagle on a Sunday.) While walking around with my
friend Dan, he remarked, "It's amazing how a big cock can make anyone
look attractive!" and I added "and popular too!"

On
Sunday There's a Parade
I
kept asking people when it gets really decadent and everyday I was told
to wait until the next day, that it was still too early. The culmination
of the event is the Parade, where all the pent up revelry is finally unleashed...
