Need A New Watch?

I'm Unique, just like everyone else!

My childhood was about as stable as a thick slab of Jell-O, but I've survived it and like my grandmother used to say, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, or causes cancer."

Some Basic Stats

I live in San Francisco. At this point, it's by default really. I've lived in SF so long, that it's just really easy for me to be here. I haven't yet found another place in the U.S. that would suit me. I like the convienience of the Farmer's Market, Trader Joe's and a vegetarian grocery store all within walking distance. I would much rather live in Europe, but I would need to get a decent job that would allow me to get out of town enough to escape the extreme cold in Jan/Feb or the extreme heat of July/Aug.

I'm single and I'm cool with that. I'm not actively looking to be with anyone at the moment. If I really wanted to be with someone, I could be. No, I'm not being conceited, it's just that I would rather have a partner, someone to share my life with, to grow with and explore new areas of life with. My grandmother used to tell me "There's a lid for every pot in the kitchen" and I know I'll find someone. I'm still young-ish, there's time enough yet. I am close to 210cm tall (ABOUT 6'11") and that adds another dimension to the mix.

Yes, everyone always comments about my height. Yes, I do get sick of it sometimes, but I realize that it happened slowly (mostly) over time for me and I had time to get used to it. Most people just don't get out much and it's a novelty for them I suppose. I'm constantly amazed at the things people say to me just because I'm tall. Some people get really offended and they start verbally attacking me, others have weird body issues and project them without distinction.

I now weigh around 16.5 Stone (ABOUT 230-245 Lbs). After the September 11th terrorist attacks, I gained almost 3 stone (about 45 Lbs.) See even Vegans get fat! No one even noticed the weight increase, but my ass was growing exponentially and I had to buy new jeans and trousers, so I resolved to make a change. It hasn't really been a big priority until recently. I gained the weight as a way to deal with the death of my pal Mark and because of the media attention and government response, I found it difficult to stop and grieve in a more healthy manner. With the start of 2003, I'm begining to feel like myself again and I'm really close to my September 10th 2001 weight. Just in time for the shirtless season of summer too!

Nomenclature

Strangers often ask if Quartknee is my real name... Yes it is. What I rarely tell them is that my middle name is Bunny. That's why I feature the rabbit motif heavily. When some people find out, they insist on calling me Bunny and now some people know me exclusively as Bunny because that's how I'm introduced to them. My other nicknames are "Q" and "Quartz" and sometimes Martin calls "QBunny"

I wasn't born alone.

I have a twin sister named Kearsten, whom I love dearly. We're turning 33 in 2002. We were born on a Friday night (maybe that's why we like to party so much) No, she's not as tall as me (she's only about 5 foot 9 or 10). She's married to a really nice guy and works as an air hostess. She's based in Southern California, and lives in the same coastal area of Orange County that we grew up in. Even though our lives are really different and we're not as close as we used to be, I still manage to talk to her at least once a week.
