Christmastime seems to start earlier every year and with the Great Recession in full effect it was even more evident. I managed to enjoy a wide variety of holiday parties and explored the city a bit to check out the decorations. I was surprised to see that a lot of businesses put up rudimentary or sparse decorations this year, if at all and there were far fewer homes and apartments done up in the Castro this year. You know times are tough when the queens can't bring themselves to splash out the sparkles...
I spent Christmas day with my family in Orange County - drove down on the 24th so I wouldn't have to deal with airport security, one of the coldest winters on record in the midwest rippling through flight schedules and so I could leave and return on my own schedule. --more-->>

Due to a power failure and a failure to back-up my data properly, all of the pre-2k and many of the Y2K events pages and pictures were lost. If you were there, you lived it - if not BELIEVE THE HYPE! A new millenium is a good time to move on anyway...
