No one suspected that MJ was flirting with dangerous prescription drugs and if they did he apparently shut them out of his inner circle. The shock, horror and overwhelming grief had people all over the world crying, weeping and wailing in the streets. Because it was the Friday before Gay Pride Weekend I was able to find one sequined glove and I took to the streets to join the rest of his fans as we missed Michael because he stopped before we got enough...
Many hope that Jermaine will take the lead of the Jackson 5 now that the guy who replaced him is gone. After "Serious" and "Tickle Your Fancy" I'd love to see this renewed attention fire up Jermaine's solo career. In the Netherlands, the "Dutch Michael Jackson", Imi is alive and well and I'm praying he can finish a proper album - the EP he released has been in heavy rotation on my iPod since it was released in 2006. His cover of "Rock With You" in English sent shimmers down my spine as it is so evocative of MJ's vocal style. Its one of his most recent postings and hopefully he has had enough positive feedback about it that he will make a Dutch language version!
If you don't speak Dutch, just play this video long enough to get to the chorus - the first time I heard it I thought MJ did the backing vocals - I think there should be more roller skating in this video, what do you think?
