This was the first time I've attended the awards show since the organizers moved it to San Francisco a couple of years ago. Margret Cho was the headliner and my pal Alec Mapa was brought in for comic relief. For some unknown reason Janice Dickenson was on stage far too much being way too bitchy and Janicey. She showed up wasted and sucked all the energy from the stage everytime she got up there... She looks amazing for a fifty-something mother of three but that's obviously all she can do - let her be a model and keep the microphones away from her!
The after party was fun - a bit hot and crowded but the music was good and the guys were nice to look at even if it was too loud to chat. I felt like I was herding cats through a fish market so I gave up on trying to keep my group of friends together and ventured around the large club space. Of course I found some of the Honey Sound System DJs downstairs (They're at all the best parties!). It was a little more quiet in the VIP area where I ran into Dustin Lance Black. He missed the GayVN Awards Show because he was in town for some charity event but he made it to the after party. This was his first time back in San Francisco after his Oscar win for writing the screenplay to MILK.
I hung out with Vinnie & Logan over the weekend and took them site-seeing - we even ran into Alec & Jamie!...more-->

Due to a power failure and a failure to back-up my data properly, all of the pre-2k and many of the Y2K events pages and pictures were lost. If you were there, you lived it - if not BELIEVE THE HYPE! A new millenium is a good time to move on anyway...
